Our mission is to support life skills professionals and prepare them to serve individuals of all ages and backgrounds across a wide range of life skill subjects.

Social Vision: The National Life Skills Council focuses on creating a world where people are educated in the skills they need to succeed in life and confidently take action that fulfills their basic human needs while also moving them closer to their personal, family, and global community goals.

The NLSC Social Impact Strategy

The NLSC is a social impact organization focused on imparting life skills. We work toward this goal ongoing by balancing company growth with social impact and community support. Our social impact strategy is guided by three values:

Empowerment
Develop and mobilize life skills educators and empower them with the resources, knowledge, and processes they need to help their communities.

Independence
Create high-quality, unbiased life skills resources with the primary objective of elevating individuals’ life readiness.

Leadership
The NLSC spearheads a global movement to promote the recognition of life skills training as a vital part of education and workforce readiness.

Setting Industry Standards

Before the NLSC, few guidelines existed for life skills instructors and life coaching professionals. While some general standards had been specified for instructor qualifications, guidelines for learners across age groups had yet to be developed. The NLSC bridged this gap.

Alongside a team of professionals – including those with expertise in traditional education, financial education, and psychology – the NLSC created standards for both the instructors delivering life skills education and their learners.
